Daysha Edewi, of Cambridge, was recently selected for the Television Academy Foundation’s 2020 Internship program.

Edewi will be interning remotely this summer in the scripted series development department at Gale Anne Hurd’s Valhalla Entertainment in Los Angeles.

Edewi, a University of California-Los Angeles student, is a theater major and attended high school at Concord Academy.

“I’ve honestly never felt more honored, motivated and inspired,” said Edewi. “I’ve worked so hard to get to this place in my life, and being selected for something like this from people in the industry is a huge reminder that all of that hard work did not go in vain. I have a deep sense of gratitude for the acknowledgement.”

Typically, the Television Academy Foundation’s annual Internship Program provides 50 paid internships, at top Hollywood studios and production companies, to college students nationwide.

Due to the COVID-19 health crisis, the Television Academy Foundation has had to re-imagine its internship program this year offering the 50 students selected from across the country the chance to either intern remotely or enroll as a Summer Fellow.

The Summer Interns/Fellows Program includes virtual one-on-one visits with professionals in a student’s field of study, online panels with leaders in the television industry and customized seminars covering personal brand building and navigating the job market ahead. Fellows also become life-long members of the foundation’s alumni family giving them access to events and networking opportunities as they build their careers in the industry.
